I am constantly trying to look at my schedule and make better use of our time. In preparation for this coming year, I’d like my students to have something more productive to do when they first enter the room in the morning. I’d like to incorporate creative morning tubs. The hands-on materials I’m requesting will be used during this time. Students will be able to free play with these manipulatives and “flex their creative muscles” without any set instructions. Some of the materials I am requesting are Pipe Builders and Waffle Blocks which are both great for open ended construction. I am also hoping to get Star Builders which support hand-eye coordination. The Tower Builders and Young Architects Design blocks will allow for some imaginative play while students build towers and buildings! Additionally, all of these manipulatives are great for fine motor development because students are working with their hands by snapping, clicking, pushing and twisting among other things. Incorporating these into morning tubs will not only make better use of our time but will support fine motor development, early learning skills and even some social skills!
