Can you imagine having to sit in at a desk to do all of your daily tasks? My class is ready to move forward in a new learning environment. They are tired of desks and chairs that inhibit movement, collaboration and individual preferences. I want to create an environment that embraces individual learning styles and encourages students to work together in a welcoming environment. It is time to move the classroom into the twenty-first century. Let's give our learners the opportunity to use their creativity to communicate and to collaborate while asking and solving problems. Can they do that in a row of desks? I feel that flexible seating with stools, rockers and inflatable chairs will provide the environment and the opportunity for my students to learn the skills they will be using in the working world. The work world has moved forward; it is time to do the same in the classroom so that our students will be prepared to succeed in their futures.
