My project consists of a variety of items, from bookshelves, to materials for sensory tables, to fine motor, and alternative seating. These items will help my students in day to day happenings, and will help them have places in the classroom that is age appropriate. It is important to have different furniture and different places for students to learn and explore in! My students deserve the opportunity to explore with engaging and age appropriate materials. Some of these materials are literacy materials. The scoop chairs will provide alternative seating in the library, for children to rock and enjoy the books. There is also a 2 bookshelves, which will be used to hold books and allow the kids to get better access to organized books! The bookshelf will also be used for a storage place for books they create, so they can read our classroom books! Other items included blocks which will help with how to problem solve, play with others, include others in their playing, and engage in STEM. I have included materials also have a sensory component, where students will be able to interact with materials and have hands on experiences. Having a sensory table helps my students with disabilities, as well as ALL students. These materials also promote fine motor skills, which is essential for beginning handwriting and other skills.
