Students today within a traditional classroom are having difficulty sitting still in a classroom chair. I have created and allowed for more movement within my classroom on a daily basis, using reading centers, guided reading, math centers, and fly arounds. However, the students are still struggling with long periods of sitting. Today's work fields have many different choices for flexible seating to complete a day of work, I am asking for the same choice for my students. I would like to allow them movement within the seat so that they may sit for longer periods of time using their core to move the stool while still being focused on the lesson while seated. These stools will allow such movement.
