A huge part of learning to read is finding joy through books! All kids have different interests and abilities! In our classroom, I allow my students to choose their independent reading books from our classroom library. Having a more diverse library selection will also help them continue to grow in confidence in selecting books that interest them and also allow them to take risks in their reading choices. The best part about teaching first graders is seeing the growth they make in their reading abilities and how much they grow in their reading confidence. I want them to develop a love of reading that will set a strong foundation for years to come! Thank you for your consideration in funding our project for books and tote bags.
