Flexible seating allows my students to have a variety of choices in determining how they most comfortable and productively work. When they have independent work time or are collaborating with peers, they will be able to find a spot around the room that suits their learning style. Students learn best when they have some control over their learning. Flexible seating gives students choices of where and what they would like to sit on, whether that be a balance disc or ball, stool, or a pillow on the floor. It also allows students to move, bounce, and even wiggle while working. This movement can help students to focus and be more productive. I have seen how the power of choice promotes a positive learning environment, and I hope these additional resources will help my students grow even more.
