My kindergarten students in the Washington Heights neighborhood are eager to learn and "grow their brains" and their social-emotional skills. The majority of student are free or reduced lunch and come from Spanish speaking homes. Being bilingual is a way of life for them and helps them be successful, but can also present challenges. The projects that I post on here will be focused on closing the initial gaps that my students enter school with and help empower parents who don't speak English to still feel successful helping their children at home.
