I am requesting a carpet for my students to sit on during instruction, as well as use during center time. Kindergarten students spend the majority of their time on the carpet, engaged in participatory learning, and this carpet will provide individual seating for each child. Many of my students do not have a space to call their own at home. Giving the child their own color square that is recognized as theirs, creates a sense of belonging, while sitting together on the carpet will create a sense of community. My students will thank you for providing this special learning space for them to enjoy.
