I believe that students will reach for the stars when a teacher models the joys of reading. My students need exciting, eventful, visually appealing to the eye reading material to continue to enjoy the love of reading. Through the Scholastic subscriptions, my students will enjoy new reading material through the school year while being challenged at their rigor level in both literature and nonfiction passages. This is a wide area of struggle for my students and the magazines can be used as a wonderful resource to help them enjoy reading while they learn. Finally, my students can and will overcome their struggles through differentiated materials (the three different types of subscriptions), be challenged in small groups, whole groups, tutorials, and individual instruction.
