Each day I gather my students on the floor so that I can share authentic literature with them. This happens numerous times a day. There are also times I gather them on the floor to introduce new topics, classroom meetings or to give instructions for their various work stations. Some of the students choose to take their work and find a quiet place to sit and complete it on the floor. All throughout the day I have students who are more productive working on the floor than at their desk in a chair. Your generous donation to our project will allow my students to sit on the floor in comfort while working or listening to books. It is my goal as an educator to allow my students to capitalize on their potential. I have found that success for some does not always come from sitting at a desk. I have learned to empower my students by allowing them choice in the classroom. I would like to be able to add this soft floor cushion choice to their toolbox. Thank you!!
