Our school serves a diverse population, 81% of our students are currently living in low-income households. About half of the population is Hispanic, and this year we are expanding our bilingual program to second grade. This much needed measure will serve to improve the success of high school completion and college readiness. My students are global citizens, taking part in innovation and creation in a dynamic world. Four iPads would give them the opportunity to interact with technology on a regular basis, making them effective digital citizens. With limited resources, iPads will help remedy that by having access to global online educational resources, especially when it comes to bilingual resources.
