Our classroom is full of bright, determined, and hard-working kids. Unfortunately, we are in an area that has a lot of poverty. Supplies, like scissors, are always needed and we quickly run out. I also seek to make my classroom a safe place for them where they can be comfortable. I try to create an environment that is best for learning to take place. Our time on the classroom rug is where so much learning and great conversation happens! It also helps them to be able to get up and move around throughout the day as we learn at different areas in the classroom. We focus so much of our time and effort on reading! Fluency is always a struggle and these kids do not get read to very much. An audio center where students can hear good readers would greatly benefit their reading skills and desire to read!
