My students and I were given the opportunity to read 'Wonder' by R.J. Palacio as a novel study this past quarter. We all (including myself) fell in love with the novel and the positive impact it made on us as readers. 'Wonder' inspires all who read it to 'be kinder than necessary' and influences children to look beyond appearances to the heart of each human being. I believe that as educators, our job is not only to teach core subject areas, but to mold our youth into well-rounded individuals who treat others and themselves with respect and dignity. My class and I would be thrilled to continue more on 'Wonder' by reading the sequel 'Auggie and Me'. Without the help of generous donors, we will not be able to afford enough 'Auggie and Me' novels for each of my students. Please help us continue our journey of positive character development by helping us purchase this priceless novel!
