With these novice level books, I will be able to start building up my middle school Spanish program and take my first steps towards a TPRS and CI (comprehensible input) classroom. These novels will be a class set and will be used for all four grade levels, benefiting a very large number of students. I want to move away from the traditional, textbook-based way of teaching. I only have an outdated textbook to work with at this point and I really want to start using books and stories as my classroom focus. I am the only Spanish teacher in the school. I have seen what a difference TPRS and CI has made in the classrooms of other Spanish teachers and I cannot wait to see how it will change the language learning experience for my own students.
