These materials will ensure that my students are more engaged in their learning. We need Math Activity Stations, storage boxes and a work organizer. I believe in hands-on, minds-on learning. It is my belief that when students are actively engaged in their learning, they will retain the content. My district has moved away from the traditional paper and pencil learning. With these requested materials, my students will have math manipulatives to work with during the process of learning math content.
With the use of these materials each day, my students will develop number sense, master problem solving, and explore algebraic thinking. These center materials will assist my students in building the primary mathematics skills at just the right pace! These materials will be used each day during the math center time where students will be in groups working cooperatively. When my students are actively engaged, the behavior problems often exhibited by someone classified as emotionally disturbed are less likely or occur. My students are on different levels educationally, and this math center will ensure all students' educational needs are being met.
