In kindergarten, we are learning the basic skills to become readers. Something we use to reinforce what we are learning in class is a computer program called iStation. IStation is an essential component in helping our students internalize what they are learning in class. Something that we do is assign iStation homework. We ask parents to help their child on iStation for at least 30 minutes a week at home. A problem that I encountered with this last year is that our students did not have a computer at home and therefore did not have the support of their parent to help them with this activity. My hope is to have iPads that parents can check out and take home, this will allow them to help their students utilize iStation at home.
