I've struggled for years to give my students a better understanding of geography. The awareness of where a place and people are is so important in understanding how we all relate- past, present, and future. My plan is to have an Atlas at every desk, everyday. As we learn World History, we can use the Atlas to make those connections between time and place. It will also encourage curiosity and questions that go beyond the simple, what happened to the why and how it happened! With an Atlas at each student's desk, a global awareness is at their fingertips! Stories of peoples, events, and cultures will come alive and begin to make sense on a world scale.
