Last school year was my very first year teaching RTI, and let me tell you I learned a lot through trial and error. I walked in having zero materials, except for some class curriculum for reteaching. As the year went by, I kept thinking to myself, "I wish I had more small group games/activities I could provide for my students." At times my students could see the frustration on my face during our time together and that made me feel terrible. I knew there had to be something I could do to better our time together. I know just what I am going to do with the materials I am asking for. In my RTI room, I have absolutely ZERO math materials. I found myself searching high and low for different math activities to do with my groups. With the different math materials I am asking for, it will help my students to be more interactive and hands-on with the math skills other then having to just do worksheet after worksheet. Most of the reading groups I have struggle with fluency and comprehension, which is I why I am asking for those specific materials. I use my whiteboard every day, all day, and my students would have to use it as well. I am asking for the individual boards so that my students can have their own while working out problems and answering questions.
