The environment in which the classroom is set up is an important factor to student engagement and success. Students learn differently and have different bodily-spatial and kinesthetic needs. With these requested Kore Wobble Chairs, Ball Chairs, Balance Balls, a Comfy Chair, they will have the opportunity to try each flexible seating option and find what works best for each student. This alternative seating will allow movement while helping them to collaborate and think critically. I believe that when students have choice they are able to focus, keep themselves motivated, and feel more comfortable while they work. I am hoping to start flexible seating with my first graders this coming school year. With flexible seating comes the challenge of providing adequate storage for both teacher and students. I'm requesting a variety of storage materials including 3 Drawer Towers, clip boxes, a Mobile Organization Station, and a Store & Roll Organizer Cart. Each students' designated storage space will aid in student ownership and responsibility.
