Next year I would like to add to my classroom and provide even more flexible seating. Students will enter my classroom and find very few desks and chairs. Yes, I am "ditching the desks". Instead, they will find a variety of seating where they will have a choice to choose what best works for them as a learner. Flexible seating gives children an appropriate way to move and stay engaged in their learning. I truly believe in finding research based and best practices for all of my students. There are many benefits to having this arrangement in my classroom. One of the most beneficial areas is the increase in motivation and engagement. It is also giving students a sense of ownership and pride when they are able to choose where they will sit each day. I am excited for my students to take control of their learning environment and become an integral part of their learning journey
