Technology such as Chromebooks, opens up more opportunity for students with disabilities to communicate, learn to type, literacy instruction, and vocabulary and spelling development. With Chromebooks students who have difficulty decoding words but can comprehend can listen to stories at their grade level to participate in classroom discussions. Students with fine motor difficulties can learn to type. I am interested in exploring well researched programs such as ReadNaturallyLive, spellingcity and Handwriting Without Tears Keyboarding. Also, today's students are digital natives and need to learn how to navigate the internet as part of daily living skills. My students will learn how to use the internet for research.
