As a high school Spanish teacher, I want to be sure I acknowledge and recognize my students when they do good work, finally grasp a difficult concept, or other small victories. While incentives are much more common in lower grades, I have seen the positive results of even the slightest acknowledgement of student success. Students never outgrow the need and desire to have their accomplishments recognized. I can always give out free homework passes, but can't always afford to buy pencils, pencil grips, and other incentives that even high school students still enjoy getting as an incentive to always do their best as well as an acknowledgement or recognition of a task well done.

About my class
