About my class

The students will be driving the learning using the different components of the challenging question. What is comfortable furniture? What does code compliant furniture have to have? What is furniture that can be used in the classroom and be flat-packed? How can others replicate the design? The goal is to transform our classroom seating options with student-created work. The two reciprocating saws, the miter saw, two cordless drills and safety glasses requested will be used to accomplish the task of constructing the furniture in class. The final products will be built from creatively designed and tested prototypes to ensure the learning process is completed. For some students using these types of tools may open their eyes to a passion that they didn’t know they possessed! This is a great opportunity to learn and be creative in their products! I want to provide opportunities to build up our young people’s ability to collaborate, problem solve, critically involve local experts and feel empowered to create an awesome public product for an authentic audience!
