As an option to hard classroom chairs, soft seating can be an effective option for students who have a difficult time focusing or sitting in a traditional classroom seat (All. Day. Long.). Adolescents need to move. As a school, we emphasize the importance of movement and teach to the guidelines of our sponsor, Fuel Up To Play 60. Stability balls are helpful self-regulation seating devices, which provide subtle movement input like gentle bouncing and/or rocking which increases focus while staying in their own space. The balls allow positive motions in class which can help speed up cognition and make deeper connections to learning.
