Hi, my name is Tricia and I am trying to provide furniture/sensory items to help provide a calming environment for my school counseling office. One of my counseling focus for the upcoming school year will center around social-emotional learning. I will be a first-year counselor at a Title I school servicing about 500 students ranging from Kindergarten to fifth grade in Texas. Having a calm environment in place is a must-have for a school counselor's office. It gives students a safe space and provides an opportunity to practice calming strategies. At times, they struggle with personal or home problems, or even not knowing how to express their emotions.
