For years my students have sat in traditional seating but recently, I began to explore other options in my classroom and found it to be incredibly successful! Imagine students getting to take ownership of their placement in the classroom- comfortably! I believe that comfortable students are more likely to be successful and engaged students, therefore my goal is to fill my classroom with comfortable, flexible seating. Seating options like wobble chairs, balance balls and stability cushions will offer comfort to my students who have sensory needs and bouncy bands will offer students a way to fidget and wiggle in a way that is quiet and safe. I am asking for help in making this dream a reality for my classroom of diverse second grader learners.
