Our preschool classroom promotes in-depth investigations in a discovery based environment. Flexibility and individuality is encouraged for all learners. Although we do provide some direct instruction tailored to the differentiated needs of our students, we also find a child-centered approach allows our students to be active learners. Independence, exploration, and imagination are part of the discovery process, as children work in classroom centers; library, dramatic play, blocks, math, literacy, writing center, and science. The classroom is structured to give the children choices in a framework that guides their learning. We have a diverse population of children, therefore we provide a classroom where every child can thrive. As my student will tell you, they are "Team Kids."
