The books that I am requesting for my students are books that we will read in small groups together and discuss. These books will start many good conversations that need to be had. Bullying is something that occurs everywhere. I hope that by reading these books that include characters that are different than most our students will begin to see that differences are a good thing. With these books students will be able to ask questions and discuss opinions with other students and with me. With these discussions I know that my students will take what they learn outside of the classroom further spreading the idea of tolerance and accepting people for who they are. Learning to embrace differences is the key and with these books in my classroom we will be able to do just that.
