Teaching students skills that will help them obtain gainful employment and independence is the most important thing I do. I try to incorporate technology wherever I can. I currently have a 3D printer, X-carve, and Cricut Air in my room that we use to make a variety of projects (T-shirts, water bottles, Trophies, Name Plates, Art Projects, etc). These projects help them to learn several skills they will be able to use in many of the manufacturing businesses around us. Those include design, process following, follow-through, customer service, and creativity. The two items I am asking for funds to purchase will allow me to continue to develop these skills and more as well as allow for more opportunities for my students to build confidence in themselves. The Cricut Maker will allow us to expand our projects into cutting out models, engraving metal for signs, imprinting leather, and cutting fabric for sewing projects to name a few. The laser engraver will allow students to design 3D objects, which will then be used to create photos, awards, models, trophies, etc. Please help me help my students prepare to become productive members of society.
