My project aims at creating a Book Club program in my classroom. Students will be offered a choice of 6 books for the first semester, and 6 different books in the second semester. The goal is that each book club will run for a 6-week marking period, providing students the opportunity to read up to 6 novels for the school year. Through a high-interest, low-pressure book club setting, students will have the opportunity to read and discuss literature at their pace and in their safe environment. It is the goal of this program to increase the volume my students encounter.
