Unfortunately, we don't have enough classroom computers for all students in a small group to use during reading and math rotations, so we sometimes don't use them as much as we could, or some kids get left out. I have selected Kindles because they are inexpensive but useful. They are small and portable, and students can access a lot of educational apps and do research for projects. The classroom would have enough for each student in a small group to have access to one. Students would be able to practice their math fluency for multiplication, division, addition and subtraction using various apps. There are also many math games that make learning and math practice fun. There are apps to help students improve their reading comprehension and practice their spelling skills. Making learning fun and engaging helps students feel motivated, and using tablets helps them practice their tech skills, especially those who can't access technology or the web at home. Further, I'd love to see students use coding apps. I've also asked for a charging station where we can store them when we aren't using them.
