These materials will make a huge impact on my students' learning because they will have hands-on social studies materials. Actually touching and manipulating a globe will show them the relationship of different places in the world to where they are now. Having updated Atlases will enable my students to work on map skills and to view different types of maps--physical, political, etc. Donations to this project will lend to my students' understanding of worldwide current events and also help them become better global citizens. Scholastic does a wonderful job of providing high-interest, appealing, articles! This is real-world application for my students and helps them make connections between themselves and content.
