The classroom I am beginning my first year as a teacher in is a brand new classroom. My school system split our Autism classroom into low functioning and high functioning. I have been assigned to teach the low functioning room; since it is a brand new room, we are starting from the very bottom. My students are not like any other. They are extra special and need all the materials they can get to satisfy their sensory needs. They need materials to help them calm down, but also to build their skills for every aspect of life! My students struggle with sensory deficits and need help satisfying them. We will use the sensory seats and sensory buckets to help with this! My students will work on their fine motor skills with many different kids of tools and will stay organized using the caddies we requested! Lastly, my students and I love to do lots of crafts together. Paint is a great necessity in our classroom!! Please help my babies and help make their lives easier. Thanks!!
