Our students are enrolled in an accelerated course of study that allows them to complete their Associate's Degree along with their high school diploma. Their degree plans focus on either science, technology, math, or engineering. Because we do not have funding for extra curricular clubs or events, so far our students have only had the opportunity to compete in two small tournaments hosted by our neighboring high school in the same district. We would like to offer all students more opportunities and tools to increase their knowledge and love of the game of chess.. Learning and practicing the game of chess, on their own and with their peers, will enhance students' logic and reasoning skills, which are necessary in math, science, engineering, and LIFE.

About my class
