A big goal that I have for my students this year is to learn about and practice Growth Mindset. “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.” ( Dweck, 2015) These journals will help my students learn what it means to change their thoughts about hard work and how to think more positively about their growth in learning. These daily practice journals will be a great way for my students to see examples of Growth Mindset and to really challenge themselves to find ways that they can apply this concept to their own learning.
