I am a fifth grade ELL teacher in Providence, Rhode Island. It is my fourth year teaching and have been given the opportunity to watch these students progress and grow throughout the years. We consist of 26 diverse ELL 10 and 11 year old students with different native languages, backgrounds, and personalities. Despite our differences, we have become a classroom family. We are a title 1 school with a population of more than three quarters students living in low income households. We are at a 98% free and reduced lunch rate. More than 60% of students are classified as ELL status.
