The supplies that I am requesting will allow my students different seating within the classroom, so that students can be relaxed while learning. When students are relaxed and not uncomfortable their minds are able to focus more on the material being learned. The different seating options like soft seats and beanbags will be mobile so students can choose a seating option and location that allows that particular student to have the optimum learning environment. Environment shapes experiences. Research shows flexible, comfortable seating allows for a more focused student and higher quality work. I am looking forward to seeing, in my classroom, how flexible seating will promote a more focused learning environment while offering many different options for my students.
