I teach early childhood special education in a high poverty district in Illinois. My half-day three & four-year-old students have developmental delays, speech/language delays, motor delays, social/emotional delays, adaptive delays, and autism. My students have a wide range of abilities and interests, yet we all work together as a class. Some students are functioning at a three/four-year-old level, while others have abilities more like a toddler.
