I teach in a California urban charter school. We sadly have very little funding and our students come from poor backgrounds. Any art supplies the students use must be gained through funding raising efforts. Despite this, my students LOVE ART!! Many of them have a particular interests in anime, urban art, landscapes, and portraiture. I have told students that artists often times have commissioned work. After that, some of my students started to create portraits or drawings and sell them to the teachers and staff to raise money.
