My precious gems come ready and eager to learn! Just like adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day, students do too! Some of my students wake up extremely early to sit in a car or bus which can be uncomfortable. In order to enhance engagement and learning, flexible seating would be a great option for my students. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. When they are comfortable and not sitting in a standard chair, they are able to focus on learning. Being comfortable in their surrounding will make it easier for them to concentrate and tap into their limitless potential. These items will be used in the centers, small groups and whole group for my students. The mat, bands, bean bag chair and wobble chair will allow my students the opportunity to choose whether to sit, stand, or lay while focusing on their tasks. The easel will serve as a great writing and brainstorming tool as we get ready to master the writing assessments. This project would significantly help my students stay engaged in our learning throughout the day. I cannot wait to see all of the things we can do with flexible seating! Thank you in advance.
