With sensory play, our opportunities are endless! Research shows that not only does sensory play stimulate the brain creating new neural pathways but it also improves motor skills, cooperation, communication and can help calm a struggling student. Young children learn best through play, combining play with sensory input gives my students meaningful and engaging learning experiences. The sensory table will be used to incorporate hands-on learning across all subjects. It will also help provide necessary "breaks" for students who are struggling and need a moment to refocus. The table items and sand will be changed out frequently to correspond with our weekly themes.
