The materials I am requesting for my students already have a “home.” What I mean is, I know exactly where everything will go. We just need your help in getting everything through the door! The foam floor mats will be placed in the front of our classroom and used as a gathering place during our read alouds and mini-lessons. The Hokki Stools will be placed at our guided reading tables for small group instruction. Students will also be able to use these at their desks during whole group instruction. Lastly, the stack stools and stability balls will be used around the classroom, at desks, and tables for both independent and group work. By having a variety of seating options, students will no longer be confined to their hard desk chair. They will be able to easily move the stools and balls freely about the classroom to work where it is comfortable for them. The donations to this flexible seating project will help my students be more comfortable while working and in turn improve their focus and productivity! Flexible seating will also increase student responsibility by choosing a strategic workspace. Students will have a better understanding of what works best for their learning and they will be able to engage in tasks longer than when they were in their hard desk chairs. Your generous contributions of these materials will make it possible for my students to be comfortable while doing their best work!
