In order to help my students succeed, I would like to change up the seating in my room. Currently, our desks with attached chairs are too rigid and bulky to allow for meaningful group work and I would like for them to have these trapezoid tables instead. At the beginning of this calendar year, I implemented a more student-led inquiry-based style of learning. My classes get more chances to work through math problems and delve into their thinking together. We have had some success but we are not fully able to work in the way I believe would be most beneficial. I want my students to really understand and be able to apply the concepts we discuss and a more collaborative and open classroom will help us to do just that.
