My class has ten high school aged students with academic skills ranging from kindergarten up to eighth grade. Despite their learning difficulties, their social skills are at grade level. Through hearing stories from siblings and friends who attend a regular high school, they are aware of the various activities that are captured in student newspapers and yearbooks. They have expressed that they would like to have that same opportunity to share their school memories. Most of my students will not be able to recall their school events without having a picture to elicit those special memories.
