My school is a title 1 school with many of the students coming from less than ideal home environments. I have previously been teaching Special Education for the past 8 years and will go into the classroom for the first time this next school year. I have seen so many benefits from allowing students a chance to wiggle, wobble and move throughout the day. With these wobble chairs I will begin my flexible seating in my classroom, to help foster success and students taking control of what their body needs. This will allow those students who have special needs, ADHD or sensory issues an outlet in the general education classroom. This outlet will allow them to focus more on classwork and won't turn into negative behaviors. I am excited about taking on the project of creating a flexible seating classroom for my 1st graders and hopefully make them excited to come to school!
