Flexible seating is a research-based practice that gives students a sense of empowerment as they are allowed to take their learning into their own hands. During independent work times, students may choose a location around the classroom that works best for them. Currently, my students use our library pillows and clipboards to get comfy in different places around the room. We have some scoop seats and stools, but it is simply not enough for the entire class to have the flexible seating option. The flexible seating options I have selected will motivate ALL of my students, keep them engaged and focused, as well as provide a sense of comfort in their learning environment every day! The wobble chairs and exercise balls will be used in place of traditional classroom chairs. They are designed to keep my wigglers entertained while working! The desk bands will be used as well if students are seated at a traditional desk instead of on the floor, so they still have the feeling of fun while they work! Please consider supporting this cause, as it has the potential to positively impact hundreds of students - not just the students in my upcoming school year, but for years to follow!
