Every student should have immediate access to what they want to read. Every teacher can tell you that if a student does not like a book then they will fight to not read. However, I have seen first hand how the right book can transform the most unlikely student into an avid reader. My goal is to create a classroom library full of as many high interest books as I can get. Our school has a very good library, but my whole class only gets one opportunity a week to visit it. I am planning on building a classroom library that students can access immediately when they need a book. Students will then be able to share their favorites with one another to help build a community of readers.
