Kindergartens are very active and often time have a lot of energy in school. This makes it difficult for kindergarten students to pay attention in class or focus on their class work. Research has shown that some of the immediate benefits of alternative seating include burning more calories, using up excess energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. Physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior which is provided through alternative seating and it's what most of my students need.
