All children benefit from sensory exploration and my classroom is no exception. Sensory play is known to develop language and vocabulary skills, fine motor skills and is soothing and calming for the children. Most of all, it is fun. The boys and girls take turns scooping, pouring, and sifting. They run play cars and boats through hills, valleys and "vast" seas. The table is used year round and is more than popular in our classroom. This year I was moved to a smaller classroom. Needless to say, I have new space challenges. I have chosen the bins instead of the table to help with classroom space. The bins will be placed on our math and science tables and can be moved when space is needed. Thank you for thinking of us.
