Many of my students have difficulty paying attention and not fidgeting during independent work time in the classroom. I need something to help them focus so I am asking for forty-two fidget cubes. I feel having a fidget cube handy will help control some of the movement students must use in order to stay focused. We will use them in a check out system daily during class time to give those who would normally be tapping on their desk or kicking chairs or making noise in any other manner a chance to freely move hands in a way that would not interfere with their work or the work of others around them. The higher demands of first grade on these little ones has made it hard for them to maintain the stamina they need for the rigors of the classroom if they also have trouble focusing. This project would give them the opportunity to build stamina while still allowing them to move some in an appropriate manner.
